Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Supports Store Manager in setting and maintaining store standards, including but not limited to sales performance, profitability, associate conduct, operational standards, asset management, merchandising and housekeeping standards.
  • Creates outstanding customer relations and influences all staff members to do the same; acts as second-in-command to the Store Manager.
  • Supervises and develops staff to achieve the highest levels of personal performance with decreasing levels of direct supervision; trains staff and coordinates efforts to achieve goals.
  • Possesses and shares a high level of product knowledge; effectively demonstrates products; assesses product performance and communicates opportunities to appropriate business partners (i.e.: buyers).
  • Develops standards and measurements for the smooth receipt and processing of incoming product, the proper accounting for the receipt of product, and the timely and appropriate processing, storing and display of product.
  • Oversees various in-store projects from beginning to end in a timely manner, including, but not limited to visual merchandising changes and preparations for increased traffic and sales during peak selling season.
  • Conducts all business in a thoroughly honest and dependable manner, including but not limited to all register functions, inventory and inventory control, and price changes.
  • Achieves satisfactory performance results.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises all sales associates within the store.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills required: Internet Software; Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Inventory Software; Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook); Presentation software (PowerPoint); and Publisher software.

Other skills required:

  • Three years (or more depending on store size) of specialty retail experience preferred.
  • Minimum computer literacy includes email usage and Microsoft software.
