The Boolchand Group

The Boolchand Group first opened its doors in 1930 with a single storefront in Curaçao, then called The Oriental Art Palace. Founded by Indian businessman Boolchand Pessoomal Nandwani, the first Boolchand business entity was a shop providing Asian luxury and exotic lifestyle goods and respectful service to its clientele. Nandwani set a standard that we at The Boolchand Group have strived to emulate in all of our business ventures.

Over the past 9 decades, we have had to adapt to many societal, political, and economic changes. Because of our ability to do this all while creating a reliable business our customers and partners could trust, we have been able to collaborate with international brands looking to establish a presence in Caribbean markets. 

Starting with an exclusive distribution agreement in 1970, we have amassed an expansive list of brand partners including Pandora, Crocs, Apple, Canon, Samsung, and more. Today, with a presence in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, and North America, our values still hark back to 1930 and that single storefront on the island of Curaçao.

90 years and 4 generations later, we have maintained a world-class trade ethic partnering with some of the world’s most diverse and well-known brands, all while focusing on what really matters: the happiness of our customers.

Now, as we look to the future and continue to expand, the happiness of the customers we serve remains paramount. A lot has changed in the digital age that we find ourselves in today, and  The Boolchand Group is committed to adapting our business model to fit the needs of our consumers while remaining competitive in our markets. Karan Nandwani, Director of The Boolchand Group and a direct inheritor of the values of his family firm, has been on the frontlines of our entry into the digital marketplace. “So much has changed in the retail market over the last decade — from consumer demands and spending patterns to the e-commerce shift and heightened competitiveness in the retail landscape as a result,” he says. “We’ve worked hard, through strong partnerships with Pandora Jewelry and other brands, to enhance our business based on these new principles while providing a traditional retail mix.”
